In 2000, God gave the vision to James and Kelli Wheeler-Weaver to open the doors of a
Christian based establishment in which to relax, fellowship and provide entertainment without
worldly atmosphere. The WORD Gospel Café showcases Christian musical talents from
across the tri-state area, corporate prayer, and fellowship. It also offers food for the spirit as well
as food for your body with an appetizing buffet and bookstore with resources for renewing your
minds in all areas of interest ranging from living single in Christ to how to draw closer to Christ.

Let's not forget that the purpose for salvation is not to hold fast to it as some sort of secret, but to
expose the truth of God's grace and mercy. The WORD Gospel Café has been called, just like
every other Christian, to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. The environment of The WORD
Gospel Café is set so that everyone that attends, aware of the gospel or not, feels welcome and
is shown the love of Jesus Christ. We may be the only church that a person knows, so we strive
for excellence in every aspect of every event.

The WORD Gospel Café also offers an opportunity during the evening for everyone to get on the
dance floor and dance for the Lord! Following the word of the Lord that says "Let them praise
His name in the dance" (Psalm 149:3) without guilt or shame.

You will find no worldly music here, nor will you find the same old hymns your grandma used to
sing. The temptations of the flesh are gone and have been suppressed to the flow of the Holy
Spirit throughout the place. Who says that Christians don't know how have fun? With The
WORD Gospel Café experience, Christians will tell the world that "You don't know what fun is,
until you're walking with Christ!"
